Operator History

Associated Air Transport was a Miami-based airline founded by Doug Bell in 1952. It was mainly engaged in unscheduled passenger services between New York City, NY and San Juan, PR. Like many other non-skeds, it initially had military contracts, but these were cancelled in 1961 due to safety violations. Associated began operations with Commandos and then gradually moved to DC4s and Lockheed Constellations.
