Museums & Display Locations

Commandos may be seen at the following display locations:

  • Gifu-Kakamigahara Air & Space Museum, Japan: 91-1141, full aircraft preserved in JASDF colors since the 1980's and currently displayed outdoors.
  • Hamamatsu JASDF Air & Space Museum, Japan: 91-1138, full aircraft preserved in JASDF Flight Check Group colors since the 1980's and currently displayed outdoors.
  • Miho AB, Japan: 91-1139, full aircraft serving as gate guard.
  • Project Warbird Museum, Ashville, OH: 42-96654, cockpit section under restoration since September 2013 in this museum project which does not seem to ever have opened.
  • EPAC (Empresa Provincial de Aviacion Civil), Loreto, Argentina: LV-IYV displayed outdoors in a public park since the late 1970's.
  • Museum of Aviation, Robins AFB, GA: 42-101198, initially displayed outside from the early 1990's, but currently displayed indoors in its original colors.
  • Museu de Armas, Veículos e Maquinas Eduardo Andre Matarazzo, Bebedouro, Brazil: ex-VARIG Super 46C PP-VCE stored outside, derelict since 1978.
  • Explora Museum, Leon, Mexico: TEC-6047, displayed outside since the early 2000's.
  • Air Command Park, Hulburt Field Memorial Park, FL: 44-77424, displayed outside since October 1986.
  • Planes of Fame Museum, Chino, CA: 44-77559, sitting in the storage yard since 2001 waiting for restoration.
  • MUSAL (Museu Aeroespacial), Campo dos Afonsos, Brazil: FAB-2058 displayed outside since 1998.
  • Israeli Air Force Museum, Hatzerim, Israel: HI-495 was purchased from the Dominican Republic in 1999, but it is unclear if the unairworthy aircraft was ever brought back to Israel for restoration and display.
  • Yanks Air Museum, Chino, CA: N74173 (II) was purchased in October 2000 after a long career with many US cargo operators. It is stored outdoor on the museum's apron.
  • Tokorozawa Aviation Memorial Park, Japan: 91-1143 displayed outdoor in the park, regularly repainted.
  • Hijiri Museum, Omi, Japan: several of 91-1144's parts, including the tailfin and nose section, are displayed outdoors.
  • Iruma AB, Japan: 91-1145 displayed outside as part of the airbase collection.
  • National Museum of Naval Aviation, NAS Pensacola, FL: 43-47350 displayed outside, painted in the colors of US Marine Corps Commando Bu.No.39611.
  • Sarsawa Air Force Station, Uttar Pradesh, India: VT-DRN displayed outside, in a base area not accessible by non-military personnel.
  • Castle Air Museum, Atwater, CA: 44-77575 displayed outside, painted as "Honey Gal".
  • Korean War Memorial, Pusan, South Korea: 0-77592 displayed outside.
  • Pima Air & Space Museum, Tucson, AZ: 44-77635 displayed indoors wearing its original 1950's arctic markings.
