Operator History

Peninsular Air Transport was a Florida non-scheduled airline founded by W. R. Robinson, H. B. Robinson and L. A. Mobley. It operated non-scheduled commercial flights under Letter of Registration n°723 issued by the CAB on 5 August 1949 and Operations Certificate n°2-298 issued by the CAA on 30 October 1947. The later was renewed on 13 June 1951. The company operated Douglas C-47's, Commandos, and a Douglas C-54 on the following passenger routes:

  • Miami, FL to New York, NY;
  • Miami, FL to Chicago Midway, IL;
  • Miami, FL to Burbank, CA;
  • Burbank, CA to New York, NY.

Peninsular had its own repair facilities in both Burbank, CA and Miami, FL.
