Assigned to Detroit Wayne County, MI.

Late 1942

Returned to Curtiss briefly for modifications.

24 February 1943

Damaged beyond repair in Buffalo, NY in a landing accident (0/2 fatalities).

The Commando was operating a test flight. Enroute, unknown technical problems forced the crew to divert to Buffalo airport. On landing, the aircraft went out of control, veered off the runway and came to rest in flames. While both occupants were injured, the aircraft was destroyed by fire.
