Assigned to ATC India China Wing, based at Station 11, Missamari, Assam, India.

Went missing near Imphal, Manipur, India (4/4 fatalities). [MACR 4737]

The crew was performing a supply mission from Chittagong, Bengal, India to Imphal, Manipur, India as part of the Battle of Imphal [FAG suggests a flight from Alipore, Bengal, India to Supam, India]. Near Imphal, the Commando was shot down by a Japanese Mitsubishi A6M Zero. Out of control, the Commando dove into the ground and crashed in a field, killing all four occupants. These men were awarded the Air Medal.
