Assigned to the 5th Air Force, 54th Troop Carrier Wing, 433rd Troop Carrier Group, 68th Troop Carrier Squadron operating in the Southwest Pacific theater.

11 January 1945

Ferried through Brisbane Eagle Farm, Queensland, Australia.

Unknown date

Assigned to Nichols Field, Philippines.

21 April 1947

Condemned for salvage, probably by the Army-Navy Liquidation Commission.

14 March 1949

Reclamation completed at Clark Field, Philippines.

 

Right: 1st Lt. Bernie Sippel and two 68th Troop Carrier Squadron colleagues leaning on 44-77334's tail fin,  probably in Okinawa or Ie Shima in late 1944 or 1945. Bernie later walked away from a dramatic landing accident in Ie Shima, in which his Commando ended up destroyed by fire.
