Ezeiza International opened in 1946 as Buenos Aires international airport. It is located 22 km southwest of downtown Buenos Aires, the capital city of Argentina. It is the country's largest international airport by number of passengers handled, with 85% of international traffic. Aerolineas Argentinas and its subsidiary Austral Lineas Aereas do operate limited domestic air service from Ezeiza as well.
