Commando Operations
San Isidro Air Base, located 25km east of Santo Domingo, became operational on 23 March 1953. It was initially named Trujillo Air Base until 1961, when the name was changed to San Isidro. Most of the units, aircraft, and helicopters of the Dominican Air Force are based there, including Transport Squadron Pegasus, which used Commandos.
