Buffalo

Commando Operations

Buffalo Municipal Airport was home to the main Curtiss-Wright factory in the country. Most Commandos produced were built there: a total of 2710 of them came out of the lines in Buffalo.

After World War II, Buffalo was used as a secondary aircraft storage facility by the RFC (Reconstruction Finance Corporation).

The Curtiss plant, abandoned, was demolished in 2002 to give way to today's Long Term Car Park and to an extension to runway 14/32.
