Operator History
Aerotransportes Entre Rios was founded in April 1962 by Edgardo Luzzi and two other partners - possibly Manuel Monso and Enrique Tomassini. All three had been involved in Transcontinental, which was going bankrupt at the time. They started off AER by purchasing former Transcontinental Commando LV-FTR during the company's liquidation. In 1963, AER was authorized to provide non-scheduled international cargo services. It specialized in the transport of live cattle and racehorses, and began flights on American routes to Mexico, Panama, Peru and Venezuela. In March 1966, Colombia, Chile, Ecuador, Paraguay, Uruguay and the USA were added to the destinations list. AER's fleet included a Beech 18, several Lockheed Constellations, a Britannia and a Canadair CL44. The airline closed down in 1981.
