Air North
Operator History
Air North was founded by Joe Sparling and Tom Woods as a flight school and charter operation in 1977 with a Cessna 206. The company quickly expanded its charter operation and took several propliners in the 1980's, mainly DC3s and DC4s. Scheduled passenger and cargo services were also launched during that same period throughout Yukon Territory. In the 1990's, the focused moved to purchasing light and medium turboprop aircraft, and by the 2000's the fleet consisted mainly in Beech 99s and Hawker Siddely HS748s.
In the more recent years, Air North grew up to serve the entire Western Canada and Alaska with a modern fleet of Boeing 737s and ATRs, still using Whitehorse as its hub.
