Operator History

Cuba Aeropostal was founded on 16 August 1948 and started operations on the Havana to Nueva Gerona route using Commandos on 3 May 1949. The fleet later grew to include more Commandos along with Douglas DC3s, used on scheduled and charter mail and freight services. The airline was forcibly nationalized and merged into Cubana on 27 June 1961, along with private passenger airline Aerovías Q and private cargo carrier Expreso Aereo Interamericano.
