Operator History
SFERMA was founded in 1949 as a maintenance organization division of aircraft manufacturer SNCASO, later Sud-Aviation. Its main workshops were located at Bordeaux Merignac and Velizy-Villacoublay airports. In addition to maintaining and overhauling airframes, aircraft engines and other airborne equipment, SFERMA introduced several aircraft conversions. Some of its products included Turbomeca Astazou-powered versions of the Beechcraft Baron, Max Holste 152 Broussard and Nord 1102 Noralpha.
From October 1970, as Sud-Aviation merged into Aerospatiale, SFERMA became SOGERMA. The entity was integrated into EADS in 2000 as EADS SOGERMA. In 2015, it merged with Aerolia to form Stelia Aerospace.
