Relief Air Transport was founded around 1993 with the aim of carrying humanitarian aid to Sudan, Rwanda, Zaire and Somalia from the northern Kenyan town of Lokichoggio. It seems that the company was formed by ex-Air Manitoba Canadians. The company had been operating humanitarian contracts from Lokichoggio for several years until its demise, and the operation was probably continued through a Kenyan company.
