Operator History

Crescent Air Transport was founded as a non-scheduled airline in 1949 by Pakistani entrepreneur Yusuf Haroon. It also conducted scheduled flights as Pak Airways, competing with the national airline Orient Airways. After a series of crashes, the company merged into Orient on 1 October 1953, before the latter was nationalized to form Pakistan International Airways Corporation (PIAC).
