Operator History
Aerovias Amazonas opened a scheduled cargo service between Iquitos, Peru and Miami, FL in June 1961 for a 5-year trial. The flight routed via Panama, Colombia and Venezuela. The company suspended all operations in 1965, and was closed down.

AVASA purchased OB-YAA & OB-YAB in 1961, later reregistered OB-R and OB-M respectively. OB-M was destroyed by a hurricane in 1964 (probably in Miami, FL) while OB-R remained in the fleet until the airline closed down in 1965. AVASA also operated OB-OAA, leased from Compania de Seguros Popular y Porvenir from 1961.
