MATS was a cargo airline operating a small fleet of Douglas DC3's. Two accidents in succession in 1989 and 1990, one with passengers on board while the airline was registered as cargo only, sealed its fate.

MATS purchased a derelict Commando from defunct OASIS in 1991 with the intention of restoring it back to flying condition. However it seems that the airline closed down before this project could be completed and the aircraft was abandoned on the apron in Manila.
