Operator History

Upon the demise of Tor-Air, founder & CEO Thure Hultman met a group of shipping concerns who wanted a cargo airline available to them so that they could quickly transport goods around Scandinavia and further. Hultman purchased two former Tor-Air Commandos and obtained an AOC on 30 November 1966 for his new company, Fairline. However business did not fare well and Fairline went bankrupt less than a year later on 3 April 1967.

Fairline's business was taken over by Fred Olsen from 1 April 1967, using his own fleet of Commandos to perform the job.

Commando Operations

November 1966 to December 1967

Fairline purchased two former Tor-Air Commandos (three according to our list). From late 1967 when the company went bankrupt, these aircraft stayed for several months on the apron in Malmo with their titles removes. Two of them ended up auctionned in late 1967 to Aero Suppliers Establishment of Liechtenstein, and sent to Congo with Antstalt Wigmo.
