Operator History

The Dunes was one of the early Las Vegas casinos, which opened in 1955. It was controlled by Major A. Riddle, a mobster close to the Chicago Outfit. In the early 1960's, it was the first LasVegas hotel to offer exclusive transportation for its guests from California. Others, notably the Hacienda, soon followed suit.
