Operator History

The Mexican Air Force was founded on 5 February 1915 as the Arma de Aviacion Militar. Most of the interwar period was spent fighting rebellions and various territorial conflicts within Mexico. The Fuerza Aerea Mexicana took an active part in the Pacific War, flying alongside Allied forces. After World War II, and even more so in recent years, it focused its activities on observation and ground attack duties.
