Operator History
The Japan Air Materiel Area (JAMA) was a depot-level maintenance facility based at Tachikawa AB in Japan after the war. Its role was to service aircraft of the 7th Air Force, which was occupying Japan after the war. In 1949, JAMA was integrated into FEAMCOM (Far East Air Materiel Command).

Several Commandos still in service with the USAF in the Pacific were stripped of parts and broken up at the Japan Air Materiel Area.
