The Sacramento Air Materiel Area started off as the Pacific Air Depot back in 1935. It was one of the USAAF West Coast's aircraft and equipment supply and maintenance centers during and after the war. It was shut down in 1995.

1943 to April 1955*

After the war, several USAAF Commandos which were not transferred to the RFC were stripped of parts and broken up at the Sacramento Air Depot or Air Materiel Area. Some RFC Commandos were also scrapped there.
