Operator History
In the wake of the Korean War, the WWII-era 349th Troop Carrier Group (which see) was reactivated as the 349th Troop Carrier Group, Medium on 10 May 1949 at Hamilton AFB, CA. It remained in the reserve, training crews in troop carrier operations, until it was inactivated on 2 April 1951.
The 349th Troop Carrier Group was composed of the following squadrons:
- 311th Troop Carrier Squadron, Medium
- 312th Troop Carrier Squadron, Medium
- 313th Troop Carrier Squadron, Medium
- 314th Troop Carrier Squadron, Medium
- 23rd Troop Carrier Squadron (December 1944 - September 1946 only)
