William G. Spillman

Description

William G. Spillman was a native of La Harpe, KS. In 1943, he was flying for Air Transport Command's 20th Ferrying Group, based in Nashville, TN. After the war, Spillman seems to have flown for Skyways Airlines. He also purchased a Commando of his own, that he occasionally leased to Skyways. In 1948, he performed several flights in Commandos between Europe and Australia carrying migrants.

In the 1950's, Spillman seems to have become an aircraft broker and lessor. He settled in Florida where he founded the Wilson Aircraft Corporation and Spillman Industries Inc.
