Curtiss XC-46A Commando

1948 military mission variation, essentially a C-46A modified for testing.

One C-46A converted.

A single C-46A was taken out of RFC by the USAF in May 1948, converted to XC-46A and used for development tests until about July 1948. Neither the nature of the modifications involved in this conversion nor type of tests conducted are known.
