TYPE: Redesignation

DESCRIPTION: Some C-46A aircraft which were transferred to RFC (Reconstruction Finance Corporation) after World War II were returned to service in 1947-1948 with the USAF. These aircraft, which were considered obsolete, were redesignated ZC-46A. This redesignation did not involve any modification.
