Damaged beyond repair 24 km south of Guatemala City, Guatemala after an engine failed (5/32 fatalities).

The Commando was operating a scheduled passenger flight between Guatemala City La Aurora International Airport and Flores, Guatemala with 3 crewmembers and 29 passengers onboard. During the climb, the crew radioed that they had lost an engine and that they were turning back to Guatemala City. The aircraft could not maintain altitude, and it crashed on Mount Alux, killing all crewmembers and two passengers. [Mount Alux is actually 24 km to the west of Guatemala City]
