Operator History

Linea Aerea Condor was a passenger and freight carrier which operated domestic and international non-scheduled services out of the old Aeropuerto Los Cerrillos in Santiago, Chile. The company was initially operated informally as Delano y Sepulveda, from its founders names Patricio Delano Barrios and Eduardo Sepulveda Larraechea. The two men used a Commando leased as part of the Lyon Air's liquidated assets to start their operation in December 1959. On 20 December 1971, Linea Aerea Condor Ltda. was formally founded, replacing the old operation, with the addition of Maria Luisa Alfonso Barrios to the capital.

From June 1972, Condor operated irregular cargo flights from Los Cerrillos to various destinations in Chile and South America. New investors joined in 1976, and by 1978 the original founders had sold all their remaining shares.
