Trans Atlantic Airlines
Operator History
Trans Atlantic Airlines was a non-scheduled airline founded around March 1961. It was involved in tourist charters from Europe to the Middle East and Asia. It operated DC-4s and Commandos from London Gatwick, England. Its operations were apparently quite shady, as one of its DC-4s was impounded in June 1963 in Basel, Switzerland for the non-payment of certain fees, and later flown illegaly to Brussels, Belgium via Milano, Italy with a fake US registration before being impounded again. It seems likely that Trans Atlantic stopped operating after that.
The company seems linked to Miami Airlines.
Commando Operations
1961 to July 1963
Trans Atlantic's Commando was apparently based in London Gatwick, England.
