Operator History
The 47th TCS was formed in July 1942 from the redesignation of the 47th Transport Squadron constituted a month earlier. It belonged to the 313th Troop Carrier Group during all of its existence, and its history matched that of the group (which see). Aircraft of the 47th TCS wore designation N3 on the nose.
