Operator History

RANSA (Rutas Aereas Nacionales SA) was set up by Carlos Chavez of Venezuela and US Captain Everett E. Jones in Caracas in Sepember 1948. The all-cargo carrier began non-scheduled charter flights to Miami, FL, both direct and via the Netherlands Antilles. Although officially based in Caracas, the company conducted all of its operations from Miami. RANSA ceased operations suddenly in 1964, and it was officially shut down in 1966.

Commando Operations

1953 to July 1968*

RANSA operated several Commandos, some under its own ownership, others leased indirectly from L & J Trading Company, which was belonging to RANSA VP Capt. Everett E. Jones. Many of RANSA's Commandos originated from the Indian Government.
